Q: “Will you have a dress that fits me?”

A: Our shop has a large range of beautiful and fashionable gowns from size 6 to size 36. If you fall within this size range, we will have a great selection just waiting for you.

 

Q: “Do I need an appointment?”

A: Yes, we consider a personal consultation to be very important. Our experienced and highly qualified staff will guide you beautifully down the path to finding your dream dress. We ensure privacy and attention to detail. We know how busy brides can be, so we offer late evening appointments on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have power appointments on Saturdays for New Brides only which last for an hour, and 1 and a half hour appointments at other times. Saturday and evening appointments are very busy so we advise that brides book well in advance where they can. During your first appointment we will indulge you with our full attention. From all the delightful details you give us we will advise you on styles which we feel will suit you best, although we will also be guided by you and your choices. Once you have found ‘The One’, we can also help you with our gorgeous collection of veils, tiaras and shoes at a special accessories appointment.

 

Q: “Can I bring someone with me to my appointments?”

A: It is lovely for your loved ones to be part of your experience but we recommend that you limit guests to 2 if possible. This ensures a relaxed atmosphere and not too many confusing opinions. There will be champagne on ice for you and your guests for your first appointment, soft drinks and tea or coffee for the designated driver. Whilst we all love children at Curvy, we suggest that ‘Little People’ don’t attend. We really want to give all of our attention to you but if children do come then we advise you to bring someone who can keep an eye on them.

 

Q: “How quickly can I get my dress?”

A: We do have a gorgeous range of ‘off the peg gowns’ available, so you could take your dress home that day. Some of our designers are able to supply us at short notice. But normally from placing an order for a wedding gown we prefer to allow a minimum of 16 weeks. Ideally, you should order at least five months before your wedding. This allows plenty of time for any changes and gives you peace of mind.

 

Q: “Why wouldn’t I just go to a high street shop?”

A: Most High Street shops will sell you a larger size, but it is very unlikely that they will have a full range in your size and you are limited to the few they have in stock. All brides deserve the best treatment. We pride ourselves on excellent service. We genuinely care about all of our brides and strive to make your experience at Curvy fun, comfortable and memorable. After all, haven’t you been dreaming of this since you were little?

 

Q: “How do I pay for my dress?”

A: We accept all major debit/credit cards, cheques and cash. You are required to pay a deposit of 50% on ordering your dress. The balance is payable once your dress arrives.

 

Q: “How do I know which is the right style to flatter my figure?”

A: Our dedicated staff are highly experienced in selecting the size and structure that will highlight your best features and hide those bits we all worry about. The correct gown will support and flatter you. Most dresses require some degree of alteration. We have an amazing seamstress who will expertly undertake any aspect of alteration, big or small. We recommend that you budget for £ 100 to cover alteration costs. However, this may be an over estimate, it all depends on what needs to be done. You will need 1 to 2 fitting appointments once your dress arrives. This means that our amazing seamstress can ensure that your dress fits you perfectly.

 

Q: “Could I have a dress made for me?”

A: Yes! We have our very own, highly accomplished designer. She can bespoke make a gown to your specific requirements. She can help to choose fabrics, make suggestions where you are undecided, create the dress of your dreams in her workshop, all with a guarantee that no one else in the whole wide world has a dress exactly like yours!

 

Q: “I have nowhere to keep my dress during the days leading up to my wedding, can you store it for me please?”

A: Yes!..and it’s an entirely free service. We also offer free steaming and Gown cover for your dress, ready for when you pick it up!
